Mike Najarian. Books by Mike Najarian. Trivia About Strange Perspecti No trivia or quizzes yet. See you around! LR: He Mike, how did you came up with the idea to write a book in the first place? As I explain in my short introduction in my book, I have always been interesting in writing and have contemplated writing a book on several topics.
The result is a fast paced, easy reading book of tales that I hope are humorous, entertaining, and perhaps a bit insightful.

LR: Is it just about your experiences on tour with State Radio, or does it feature other adventures of your life as well? Mike: I am hoping that my book will show people that I have a lot more going on upstairs in my brain than just my music adventures. I go off on tangents and talk about my childhood and my life before I was a musician as well. I just hope people find it entertaining and get a little bit of insight into the music industry as it really is and how I have made my way in it, as well as a more candid look at who I really am as a person.
Or did you make some parts up to make a story a little funnier? Mike: Haha, good observation! Yes, actually, a sequel is in the works. I actually wrote too many chapters for the first book so now I have some material already written for the sequel. Mike: Well, you actually missed my main job right now.

During the State Radio break I have acquired all my necessary financial planning licenses and now I am a full-fledged financial planner. I like this field because I can really help people secure their financial future and acquire the peace of mind that comes along with that. I also day trade the Dow every morning the US public stock exchange. While this is going on I make the time for music and writing. LR: By the way, when will the new State Radio record be released?
And did you made a decision on the title yet? I am assuming that the record will be released in October right before our US tour. LR: After Chads timeout from State Radio to focus on his solo-record and the Dispatch-Reunion, you guys are finally back on tour together, are you happy to hit the road with them again? Mike: You better believe it! Both Chad and Chuck are amazing musicians and amazing guys and I miss playing music and travelling with those guys.
I can assure you that our live show will most definitely rock and be raw sounding. Just wait for this one live, I promise you it rocks!
I love our fans and thank my lucky stars every day that I get to play music for people who actually listen to what I am playing. Believe it or not, I taught Slash a song on the guitar. Now this story is definitely my claim to fame. Justin and I were the only single guys on tour with State Radio for a while and we became true bros.

And this was one of his favorite tales. So it gives me great pleasure to share it with you today. Tom had heard State Radio on a music video channel that he was randomly watching and he liked the music and sentiment of the band. He said it was one of those music channels that has a few videos that you can vote on, and the video with the most votes gets played. Tom was digging the tune, and the sentiment of the song, and thought that State Radio would be great to include in his Justice Tour project.
What was the Justice Tour? Also, Tom had a million rock star friends who were attending the events and performing songs at the shows. The Justice Tour premise was to do a community service project the first day we were in a city and then play a show the next night.

For instance, in LA we went to a homeless shelter, in New Orleans we did a Katrina clean up, in Boston we did a rally for universal health care, and so on and so forth. And, of course, we played shows in each of these cities. It was a great concept and really inspired State Radio to start its own foundation, Calling All Crows which focuses on preventing violence against women , and continue with the community service projects around the country through the Ruffshod Foundation which focuses just on community service.
A really great idea by Tom Morello, and you can see how it branches out and starts to make a difference with some hard work and dedication.
